A Third Foot

A Third Foot is the UK’s only skateboard manufacture, which produces hand crafted boards from construction to print.

We are a grass roots operation, independently run by two skateboarders with a passion for skating, art and craftsmanship, located in the heart of England since 1997.

Over the last 18 years, we have organically developed our processes to redefine what embodies an excellent skateboard with a soulful feel.

Pop, strength and durability are the key features of any deck which leaves our factory, and we’ll always strive to achieve more from our wood.

Aclimatise

Aclimatise is the clothing brand created by APT Fabrics Ltd to offer innovative clothing systems manufactured in the UK; What does Apt fabrics do? It’s a simple question, but the answer is much, much harder. You could say that we provide technical and performance fabrics, and that would be true – but you would have neglected to mention our research and design side, which develops fabrics on a par with any of its competitors.

You would also have failed to mention that not only do we design and supply our own performance fabrics, but we also offer a bespoke service that can find the perfect material for our clients in as little as two weeks. That’s not to mention the fact that the company holds training seminars for other organisations, design optimisation services and has its own specialised fabric brands.
Yes, APT Fabrics is an impressive organisation, even more so when you consider that it is not even 8 years old .

Active Tools

Active Tools was set up in 2003 to develop innovative products for rowers. The company grew out of a long established Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering company whose management wanted to apply their expertise to the sport they loved.

All Active Tools products are designed on state of the art 3D CAD workstations and then prototyped in house using high-speed CNC machines. This approach enables innovative designs to be developed very quickly. Once the designs have been developed prototypes and first production samples are then put through extensive user evaluations and life testing.

We are based near Henley in England and manufacture most products in house. We supply direct in the UK and through agents in a number of other countries. In countries where we don’t have agents we ship orders direct from the factory.

New products are always under development and we welcome comments on existing products and suggestions for new ones.

Aero Leathers

Aero Leather Clothing Ltd, based in Scotland, have been manufacturers and sole distributors for the world famous Aero leather jackets since 1983, although it took a couple of years after we made the first Aero jacket in 1981. The current Aero company is a family business which was founded by Ken & Lydia Calder who still help to run the company and are still the major shareholders.
Extensive research and many years of manufacturing experience have gone into every aspect of the design and quality control of our jackets, to ensure that any garment bearing the “Aero Leather” label will provide decades of wear in the most hostile of environments and elements encountered in aviation, motorcycling, open top motoring and outdoor pursuits.
Every aspect of Aero is of the highest standard, the very best leather, selected and quality inspected by our technicians before they hand cut each individual panel. Then the lining is, again, carefully hand cut either from Alpaca wool, tweed, tartan, wool or silk. The leather panels and lining are then passed on to one of our sewing specialists who, on a traditional walking foot maching begins the process of constructing the item using stitching that is 3.25 times stronger than required. Once the item is built the specialist then puts his/her name to it and hands it to our Quality Inspector for the 28 point inspection that every item must undergo before leaving the premises.

Airwave Surfboards

A fresh brand from the North of England.

We make performance boards for all surfers. Shorties, hybrids, funboards, singlefins and weird-little-things.

Bespoke design, blended with intelligent manufacturing and timeless aesthetics.

Performance, quality, style.

Airwave is the brainchild of British designer, Josh Moffat.

A student of industrial design, composites and fluid mechanics, Josh designs surfboards using first mechanical principles and ergonomic theory.

“I’ve always designed – surfboards, kitchenware, running shoes, anything. The first board I made was a 5’8 diamond tailed 5 fin, made for small waves. I took it to Peniche that summer; it wasn’t perfect, but it worked. I was hooked.”

Design is in Airwave’s blood; finding the balance between art and science, form and function.

Our shapes are created with 3D CAD, and cut using industry leading CNC technology, for accuracy and precision.

And yeah, each board is still fine-shaped, glassed and finished by hand.

AllSports Nutrition

Allsports Nutrition was established in 1971 and for the last 42 years has worked closely with top athletes to tailor-make the wide range of products that we have available. We are the longest established UK sports nutrition supplements company.
1st sports nutrition company in the UK to supply a 90% dairy protein formula
1st sports nutrition company in the UK to manufacture our own protein blends
1st sports nutrition company in the UK to use whey protein.

Our Philosophy

We are a family owned and run business, passionate about our products and our customers. We maintain close relationships with leading cyclists, athletes and bodybuilders who provide us with valuable feedback about our products and help us test new products both in training and in competition.
We are specialists in the manufacture of protein and carbohydrate powder blends not only for serious competing athletes but also for everyday general fitness trainers.
We are proud of the fact that we make all of our own powder blends at our premises in South Yorkshire.
Whilst most other supplements are created in large manufacturing plants abroad and mixed in large volumes, we mix in small batches using tumbler blenders. This ensures better quality control and a more uniform distribution of nutrients, which produces a far superior blend. This also means that we can guarantee that there is no cross contamination between products during manufacture and none of our products contain any banned substances – a very important factor for competing athletes.

Aviation Leathercraft

If you’re looking for a genuine Irvin sheepskin flying jacket (as worn by the RAF’s heroic pilots in WWII), or one of our other sheepskin jackets designed for flying or Motoring, or maybe a classic leather flight jacket developed for several famous squadrons, and to go with this a sheepskin or leather flying motoring helmets or driving coat and a pair of aviator goggles – you’re in the right place.

And, if authenticity is as important to you as it is to us, you’ll be pleased to know that we own the Irvin trademark and we’re the only company in the world making genuine Irvin jackets. We’ve also worked with numerous squadrons to design and produce their own, bespoke flight jackets and we are the only company in the country to produce an MoD approved leather flying jacket for use by serving RAF officers as part of their official uniform.

All of our jackets are made here in England.

Balmoral Knitwear

Established in 1895 we have built up a solid reputation for being small enough to care yet big enough to cope with the most demanding of contract order fulfilment.

Our knitwear is regularly scored higher for quality and long-term wear than any of our competitors. What’s more, we continually invest in new machinery, technology and yarns. This year we have added fine-knit Cotton/Acrylic knitwear to our existing range of TPA Acrylic, Teflon-treated Wool/Acrylic and Wool/Nylon yarns.

Our manufacturing base remains in our own factory in Scotland where we still produce over 2,000 garments a week, maintaining jobs, skills and paying taxes in our own economy.

Please note:
Of course we have also carefully selected ethically sound offshore partners for styles we cannot make in the UK and for larger contract quantities. Only those meeting Balmoral Knitwear’s own extremely high standards are used.
We have made a choice not to use knitwear manufacturers in the Far East. All of our off-shore partners are in Eastern Europe ensuring good communications, faster delivery and proven reliability.
