Men's Clothes & Accessories
The &SONS project is the creation of a range of unique workwear clothing designed by and for craftspeople, artisan makers and creative pioneers in their chosen fields of endeavour.
THE WORLD NEEDS PIONEERS, PEOPLE WILLING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW, BREAK NEW GROUND, SET OUT ON NEW PATHS.
We’re proud to support innovation while valuing the skills of artisans where hard-won expertise is passed on from one generation to the next. That’s why we take such care over the design and manufacture of our clothing, using only the finest natural materials combined with the greatest craftsmanship. These are garments built to stand the test of time. We take the best from the past to create powerful ideas for the here and now.
&SONS clothing is the brainchild of a group of like-minded craftspeople who make their living from taking and shaping superb visual imagery. That close attention to detail and style has now been applied to clothing for pioneers.
Howie Nicholsby’s 21st Century Kilts offer a unique take, and are a fitting homage, to a traditional Scottish style. The use of original textiles, ranging from leather, gold and purple denim, camouflage, to pinstripe offer something different to those fond of this age old item. 21st CENTURY KILTS were borne in 1996 and launched in 1999 at London Mens Fashion Week.
“My aim is to give men throughout the world a realistic alternative to trousers. Pioneering the next step of its evolution, 21st Century Kilts is true to the original kilt which was everyday clothing. Casual or formal a kilt should be an option for any man from anywhere who can realise they are part of the history of an international garment.”

Aclimatise is the clothing brand created by APT Fabrics Ltd to offer innovative clothing systems manufactured in the UK; What does Apt fabrics do? It’s a simple question, but the answer is much, much harder. You could say that we provide technical and performance fabrics, and that would be true – but you would have neglected to mention our research and design side, which develops fabrics on a par with any of its competitors.
You would also have failed to mention that not only do we design and supply our own performance fabrics, but we also offer a bespoke service that can find the perfect material for our clients in as little as two weeks. That’s not to mention the fact that the company holds training seminars for other organisations, design optimisation services and has its own specialised fabric brands.
Yes, APT Fabrics is an impressive organisation, even more so when you consider that it is not even 8 years old .
Aero Leather Clothing Ltd, based in Scotland, have been manufacturers and sole distributors for the world famous Aero leather jackets since 1983, although it took a couple of years after we made the first Aero jacket in 1981. The current Aero company is a family business which was founded by Ken & Lydia Calder who still help to run the company and are still the major shareholders.
Extensive research and many years of manufacturing experience have gone into every aspect of the design and quality control of our jackets, to ensure that any garment bearing the “Aero Leather” label will provide decades of wear in the most hostile of environments and elements encountered in aviation, motorcycling, open top motoring and outdoor pursuits.
Every aspect of Aero is of the highest standard, the very best leather, selected and quality inspected by our technicians before they hand cut each individual panel. Then the lining is, again, carefully hand cut either from Alpaca wool, tweed, tartan, wool or silk. The leather panels and lining are then passed on to one of our sewing specialists who, on a traditional walking foot maching begins the process of constructing the item using stitching that is 3.25 times stronger than required. Once the item is built the specialist then puts his/her name to it and hands it to our Quality Inspector for the 28 point inspection that every item must undergo before leaving the premises.
Alan Little founded Alexander James 35 years ago. An accomplished tailor and cutter, born in Lancashire, the textile heartland of England, he had a passion for form and fit in clothes. He chose sporting wear to prove his skills, deciding to specialize in riding, hunting and shooting, where tradition rules. He knew this was where his hand tailoring, combined with the best cloths, would be quickly recognized. He was right.
Alan Little developed a highly successful formula, a range to suit everyone – and of all ages. Alexander James offers ready to wear items, a customized option, and a full bespoke service. This gives choice both in product and price. The only common thread is the finest material from some of the oldest mills and weavers in Britain.
Alan is a Past President of the Federation of Clothing Designers and Executives, as is his son, Mark; Both he and Carl can draw on his long experience for they work in this family business. Thus customers old and new, at home and abroad, reap the rewards of the Alexander James tradition in the robot age – good service and individual attention to detail by hand – so they look their best, in clothes just for them.

Over four generations we have acquired an enviable reputation for the most excellent made to order service, enabling our clients to compliment their wardrobe with the vast range of styles we offer for every occasion.
To this day, under that same roof at Portland Road, small groups of master craftsmen take time to select the best calf leathers and suedes, then cut, stitch, last and finish them as generations of Sargents have done for over a century..
At Alfred Sargent we are constantly striving to improve the service we provide for our global clientele, which includes a full refurbishment service ranging from a full re-sole and re-heel to a simple refinishing of edges and uppers.
We offer private label development work in addition to our ranges
Fred Turner embarked upon a career in the hosiery industry in 1928. With his eye for quality and detail together with a recognised need to be at the ‘cutting edge’ of technical developments in the industry, he successfully developed his manufacturing business.
The knitting industry has relied upon training and development to pass from generation to generation via word of mouth. Fred Turner was no exception and throughout his life he shared his thoughts and experiences with his sons so that today we are able to manufacture a first class product in England, using the finest natural fibres blended with just enough technical yarns for luxurious quality, hidden durability and supreme comfort, all at a competitive price.
We are based in Derbyshire not far from the original mills of Jedediah Strutt and Richard Arkwright and like them, we strive for excellence in our products.
We do not sub-contract manufacture to other companies. Our range is consistent in sizing, colour and quality.
