ABREPTION was started in September 1996 by Cynthia and Paul Johnson. Both had previously been employed by a Luggage / Bag manufacturer for some years. Building on the skills acquired, a customer base was quickly established. Abreption became known by word of mouth and the client base has kept growing ever since.
A large part of Abreption’s USP is due to the ability to produce from a base starting point or to take on CMT work. From a sample to production. Quality and service is the KEY words and philosophy of Abreption.Working from a small unit in the market town of Grantham in Lincolnshire, the product itself is the selling point. Products have been exported to places as far away as Australia, Japan and the U.S.A.

When Alice and Ed were searching for cufflinks for their wedding, they realised that there was a need to develop something fresh. They uncovered a desire for a precise and refined product.
Inspired by architecture and geometry, a passion and respect for British factories lies at our core. Whether it’s our Aerospace part manufacturer or our Military armoury, we have close relationships with all our factories and design honest products stemming directly from their expert techniques.
Our products are driven by the human elements and processes behind industrial manufacturing, machines and materials in Britain. This approach has seen us expand from cufflinks to a full collection of British made accessories.
Our objective remains the same: innovative designs using British factories. We are refining industry.
Fred Turner embarked upon a career in the hosiery industry in 1928. With his eye for quality and detail together with a recognised need to be at the ‘cutting edge’ of technical developments in the industry, he successfully developed his manufacturing business.
The knitting industry has relied upon training and development to pass from generation to generation via word of mouth. Fred Turner was no exception and throughout his life he shared his thoughts and experiences with his sons so that today we are able to manufacture a first class product in England, using the finest natural fibres blended with just enough technical yarns for luxurious quality, hidden durability and supreme comfort, all at a competitive price.
We are based in Derbyshire not far from the original mills of Jedediah Strutt and Richard Arkwright and like them, we strive for excellence in our products.
We do not sub-contract manufacture to other companies. Our range is consistent in sizing, colour and quality.
45 Degrees of Separation is our new collection that takes traditional fabrics and breaks all the rules. These ties are iconoclastic, anti-establishment and non-conformist; they reflect the zeitgeist for a modern irony in dressing while still referencing the past. Ties for the free-thinker, the artist, the architect, the poet; not for them the oppressive symbol of the wage-slave!
We are passionate about the quality of our belts. Leather working is one of the crafts still alive and well in England and differs from our European neighbours in being more solid and built to last. We use the best English oak-tanned English bridle leather from J&E Sedgwick & Co. one of the last and best tanneries in the UK and hand-cast buckles in brass, pewter and solid Sterling silver. Absolute attention to detail includes hand stitching in our signature duck egg blue linen thread.
Cufflinks and watches are really the only expression of jewellery a man of integrity can make, we have chosen a small collection of exquisite and understated pieces hand made by craftsmen jewellers in the British Isles and quite suitable for any discerning man. Also the softest cashmere socks you ever did feel…
Ardour Brand is the coming together of two creatives, each with the same outlook, attitude and appreciation for quality made products, clothing and design.
Coupled with a sharp eye for detail, we have always talked about deploying our own knowledge and interests into the production of a collection of garments and products that would appeal to us personally.
Having both spent large quantities of our time paying unabated homage to the craftsmanship and thought that goes into the process of creating the garments that we both love and wear, we decided the time was finally right for us to venture out on our own and deploy our own ideas to make our dream a reality.
Ardour Brand is simply those aforementioned passions, ideas and dreams coming to the fore in the form of a selection of handmade products.
All of our materials have been sourced either locally here in the UK or imported from Japan or America and each item is hand made locally in England. We both believe that the little details are what make the beautiful things beautiful and we’ll always conform to this way of thinking in everything that we do with Ardour.
From passion comes product
