ABREPTION was started in September 1996 by Cynthia and Paul Johnson. Both had previously been employed by a Luggage / Bag manufacturer for some years. Building on the skills acquired, a customer base was quickly established. Abreption became known by word of mouth and the client base has kept growing ever since.

A large part of Abreption’s USP is due to the ability to produce from a base starting point or to take on CMT work. From a sample to production. Quality and service is the KEY words and philosophy of Abreption.Working from a small unit in the market town of Grantham in Lincolnshire, the product itself is the selling point. Products have been exported to places as far away as Australia, Japan and the U.S.A.

Bill Amberg Studio

At the Bill Amberg Studio, we have been exploring the material and aesthetic possibilities of leather for over 30 years. We are a pioneering, ever-curious and unconventional group of designers and craftspeople, driven by the desire to push the boundaries of leather-working in new directions, and to create objects and interiors with style and longevity.

Our work runs the gamut from bags and accessories to commercial interiors and residential applications. The Bill Amberg Studio is a global authority on architectural leatherwork, offering a full cycle of services relating to the integration of leather into interior spaces. Over the years we have not only developed a profound understanding of our material and its versatility, but also accumulated a wealth of expertise in using leather in unexpected contexts (we were, for example, one of the first interiors studios to master leather as a flooring material).

Although we are happy to employ cutting-edge technology whenever a project demands it, our practice remains rooted in the traditional craft techniques that have underpinned the leatherworker’s trade for thousands of years. Our team of artisans draws from the age-old disciplines of casemaking, saddlery and bookbinding – often using tools and methods that have remained unchanged for centuries – in order to deliver beautiful contemporary leatherwork that lasts.

By shopping with us, you are both acquiring a piece of design history, and supporting artisanal traditions that have been practised in Britain for centuries.

Bill Amberg bags and accessories are made by hand in England and produced in small quantities. Over the last three decades, the Bill Amberg marque has become internationally recognised as a badge of fine quality and craftsmanship, and a promise that, wherever you see it, you can be assured the piece has been made to last a lifetime.

Breagha Designs

Hello and welcome to Breagha.  All of our unique designs are handcrafted to the highest standards using luxurious Harris Tweed, which is sourced directly from the mills and weavers in the Outer Hebrides.

Having grown up on the Isle of South Uist, our passion lies in combining a clean elegant aesthetic with the romance and traditions of Harris Tweed. Our contemporary bags are both stylish and functional for everyday use.

Harris Tweed is only handwoven by the islanders of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barra in their homes, using pure virgin wool that has been dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides.  This tradition has created a fabric that is both beautiful in it’s simplicity and longlasting in it’s durability.

All bags and accessories are handcrafted in Great Britain

Handmade Leather Belts in Devon, England
My family’s love affair with fine leather goes back over 130 years. By 1884, my great grandfather Gustavus had established a reputation as a master craftsman, making and restoring fine shoes in the small Belgian town of Oostvleteren.

My grandfather, Camille, having come to this country in the early part of the last century, was to follow firmly in his father’s footsteps, hand crafting leather belts and handbags in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

It was from Camille that my father David in turn learnt his trade, going on to own a saddlers and leather goods business in the same town.
