Artisan Honey Company

Welcome to the Artisan Honey Company homepage. Why Artisan Honey? Well, we take pride in the fact that all Artisan Honey comes from our own hives or is selectively sourced from like-minded independent beekeepers. This ensures that the honey is direct from the hives with minimum interference from man, just as nature intended. Honey is unique in the fact that it has natural preservatives so requires no additives.

The Artisan Honey Company hives are distributed amidst the Lincolnshire Countryside to allow a wide range of foraging capability, this provides a wider range of floral sources for our honey. The hives are stocked with some of the most well behaved and productive bees available, the Buckfast strain of bee is a favourite. We aim to work with the bees to ensure that they are rewarded for the honey they produce with the best conditions and care that can be provided.

Bakedin

The Bakedin story began back in May 2013. Joe and his good friend Anna had been lift sharing to work for a few months, and on a dreary journey on the M3 the conversation moved onto the subject of baking. They both loved to cook and had the idea of a time saving baking kit that still gave the full baking from scratch experience but with a little less hassle – and so the Bakedin baking kit was born.

They tested their prototype kits on 100 friends and colleagues and after some positive feedback realised the only way to see if people would actually buy the products was to try selling it to them. Joined by their friend Elaina, a plan was hatched to make another batch of kits and get them ready for sale. A school fete, artisan market and high street food festival later and it was clear the public loved the idea. They took a small startup loan from the government and proceeded to get some more professional packaging printed, picked up their first stockist and launched an additional product range – mug baking mixes. The business grew steadily, but working a demanding day job and spending every evening and weekend working on the business meant that a crossroads in the business was soon reached.

After raising a round of seed investment in June 2015, Joe quit his day job to manage the business full time, hired his first employees and the rest is history. After an introduction from one of the shareholders to Michel Roux, they are now fortunate to have their recipes exclusively developed for them by one of the world’s finest pastry chefs. Today Bakedin has hundreds of stockists including Selfridges, Ocado, Lakeland, Wholefoods and Center Parcs. Their baking club subscription service was named in the Independents top 15 food subscriptions two years running, alongside brands such as Graze, HelloFresh and Hotel Chocolat.

The Bakedin story has only just begun, so join the Baking Club and be part of the next chapter!

Bannisters’ Farm

The Bannister Family has been farming the Yorkshire Wolds for over 100 years. Born into an old farming family, it was my father, Ken Bannister, who brought us to the top of the Wolds where our family farm is now, and Hilary (my wife) and I are still at the helm today.
With the rise of convenience foods and the popularity of the microwave in the early Eighties, we spotted a potential new venture – cooking and freezing baked potatoes.

Farmhouse Potato Bakers Ltd was born. Through a lot of perseverence and determination from a husband and wife team, the company has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of baked potato products in the country. Whilst Farmhouse initially supplied the catering industry, when friends and family started requesting “more jackets please!”, we soon recognised a gap in the market for a retail frozen baked potato product, which we decided to call Bannisters’ Farm. We launched the first frozen whole jacket potato product onto Morrisons’ supermarket shelves in September 2007 and it’s been growing in popularity ever since.

Everyone here shares a passion for food and as much food industry experience as we have of farming and our Yorkshire Wolds countryside. Our aim is to provide good, wholesome food and with our products, hope to unite traditional values with the requirements of busy modern life.

Beez Neez Honey
, ,

Beez Neez began as a hobby some 40 years ago when Frank and Shirley Dooley had one hive in the back garden. It has grown greatly since then.

Beekeeper Frank has studied extensively over the years. He has completed his standard and intermediate Beekeeper qualifications with the British Beekeepers Association. He has also attended Hartpury College, Gloucester and Lincoln Agricultural College to complete Diplomas in Beekeeping.

The highlight of Beekeeper Frank’s love affair with bees was meeting Brother Adam at Buckfast Abbey. Brother Adam (1898-1996) was a Bendictine Monk and world authority on bees. He developed and bred the Buckfast Bee.

We produce delicious, local and raw, natural honey from our hives in South Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. We also have hives along the Severn Valley area, Birmingham and parts of the Black Country.

Our extensive range of natural products includes Pickles, Chutneys and Marmalades. All items are hand made in our own kitchen. We also sell Beeswax, Honeycomb, Handcreams, Pollen, Soap and pure beeswax Candles.
