Auto Sparks

The origins of Autosparks date back to around the 1920’s when it’s founder, Mr Henry Colomb, formed an electrical business in Beverley Road, Hull.
Today Autosparks produces a range of Harnesses for classic Motorcycles, Cars, Tractors and Commercial Vehicles as well as supplying original equipment Harnesses to smaller volume manufacturers including such diverse applications as some of the top British Sportscars, European Road Sweepers and a range of Emergency Vehicles.

Our wiring harnesses are manufactured in a variety of finishes.

We use British Standard 6862 PVC insulated automotive cable where applicable. This can then be braided to replicate the classic braided cable look with the modern day PVC cable properties. Once the harnesses are laid they can then be bound in either PVC harness tape or a cloth braiding depending on vehicle.

Original Manufacturers colour coding is used where possible; terminals and fittings are supplied where necessary. We go to great lengths to obtain original-type terminals but on older vehicles some wiring accessories may no longer be manufactured. If terminals and fittings are unobtainable we may omit or substitute for a suitable alternative.

A few patterns are not complete and we may only be able to supply a main harness, we do state this where possible. Some smaller harnesses and sundry items are sold separately, please check before ordering. If in doubt contact us.

Autocar Electrical Equipment

Founded in 1923 by E.G. Ford, the Grandfather of the current Managing Director, Autocar has long been a major contributor to the British automotive industry.

In the 1950s, under the management of E.H. Ford, Autocar became the national distributor for Sun Tester products. Then, in the 1960s, Autocar worked closely with British vehicle development departments to perfect ignition for high performance cars such as the Jaguar “E-Type”. This lead to Autocar launching its own groundbreaking Lumenition Infra-Red solid state ignition system..

In the 70s and 80s, Autocar branched out into the world of in-car entertainment when it was chosen to introduce the Pioneer, Alpine, Becker and Hirshmann brands to the UK. In the 90s, and under guidance from the third generation, M.A.J. Ford refocused the Company on the motor sport field and added a race spec Engine Management System and Throttle bodies to the Lumenition range..

Despite manufacturing some of the best ignition solutions available, Autocar also saw the need for a range of race products aimed at the enthusiast for whom price was just as important as features. The MicroDynamics offers such a solution with its brand of turbo products, shift lights, rev limiters and ignition systems. Launched in 2000, the Digital Series brings the latest technology within reach of all.

With its wide range of products, continued research and development, and supportive international dealer network, Autocar delivers technology that its founder could never have envisage and that E.H. Ford could have only dreamed of.

BCC Parts

The BCC team has a long association with the automotive industry not only in manufacturing high quality parts but also in the establishment and development of national dealer networks for parts and technical support.

Our staff, are “petrolheads”, having a passion for all things automotive that extends beyond the workplace and takes them to Le Mans, Silverstone, Goodwood and to University for specialist training in road vehicle braking.
Having been involved in the automotive market as both a contract manufacturer and an end user we came to the conclusion that the quality of some of the brake components on offer needed to be significantly improved. Further research confirmed our view and we set about:

Using our extensive knowledge of brake caliper manufacture, we started from scratch, to select and ensure the supply of traceable, certified materials and components.
Using the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and commissioning independent expert finite element analysis to design a brake caliper that combines the best function and form.

Applying the same quality control system used in our aerospace component manufacture with the intention of making available to the consumer the best aftermarket automotive components possible.
CNC machining calipers from solid billets of certified aerospace grade 7075 and 2014 series Aluminium or Ductile (SG) Iron.
Testing the calipers exhaustively both in-house and at the Automotive Testing Centre, The Millbrok Proving Ground http://www.millbrook.co.uk/ .
Finally, satisfied that we have the best caliper we could possibly make, we combined this with a variety of the highest quality, British made, complimentary products and exceptional customer service to provide each customer with a range of upgrades tailored to their particular vehicle, improving both looks and performance without compromising quality or safety.

BGH Geartech

As Gearbox Specialists, BGH Geartech have always been interested in the close variants of Ford Type 9 Gearboxes from reconditioning to modifying, and when the type 9 Ford gearbox became available it was clear that even they didn’t have a long enough first gear to suit many kit cars which is why as gearbox specialists we ensure the kit car gearboxes are optimised fully for maximum efficiency. We also have launched our new Heavy Duty Synchro Gearbox design, to address the problem of baulk rings breaking on third and fourth gears, due to harsh racing conditions.
Also Suitable for road use.
